Free Artist Talk by Nigel Borell, Artist in Residence at Arts in Oxford

3pm Saturday 10 July

A wonderful opportunity to find out more about the paintings Nigel Borell is working on right here at the gallery. He will unpack new painted works that explore navigation, braided rivers, new beginnings, water, sustenance, health and wellbeing, art as rongoa, kaitiakitanga, ancestral knowledge among other concepts.

We are very lucky to host Nigel Borell (Pirirākau, Ngāi Te Rangi) who was Curator Māori Art for Toi Tū Toi Ora: Contemporary Māori Art the largest exhibition in the 133-year history of Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki (AAG) featuring over 300 artworks by 110 Māori artists.
